High 5 Advanced Training Bar Cranberry - Great ingredients - slow release energy from fruit and oats and quick release from maltodextrin. The flavour is an acquired taste though.

Most energy bars are crammed to the packet with carbohydrate alone, but High 5 takes the unusual step of mixing four parts carbohydrate and one part protein. Each 155 calorie 40g bar, as a result, provides 22g of carbs and 6g of protein.
This means they'll not only provide the necessary carb intake but also keep you going for longer, making them ideal for long winter rides and reliability trials, where recovery is as important as fueling the legs.
The key ingredients are oat flakes, raisins and glucose syrup for making you go and whey and soy protein for recovering. On the bike the bar is easy to eat and digest. That's in part due to its small size, there's less of it so it's a quick snack to eat, and the natural and mild taste of cranberry and soft oat texture makes it a very palatable ride snack. Also, being soft and chewy, with a slight crumbly build, makes them easy to break into smaller chunks, and they stay soft even on cold rides when other energy bars have frozen.
They also make a handy between-meal snack, with the protein content helping to satisfy your appetite, keeping hunger at bay for longer. And their simple ingredients and low fat makes them clearly preferable to choosing a more convenient chewy bar from the shops.
On first tasting then they're a great tasting energy bar that satisfies on or off the bike.
Road Cycling UK High 5 Advanced Training Bar Review - January 2011

What does it taste like? Thanks to the syrup, raisins and oats, the taste is great and pretty similar to a ‘normal’ cereal bar, although the texture is noticeably drier, meaning it’s a bit crumbly, so you need to be careful you don’t drop half of it if you’re eating on the move.
However, more crumbly means less clingy in the mouth, so it’s very easy to chew and swallow (though you’ll need a good swig on your bottle to get the crumbs down), and it also means it doesn’t get too sticky in your back pocket too – a major plus in my book. I carried these bars for quite a few miles on some hot rides –including this years Verenti Dragon Ride in Wales – and they were still fine to eat at about 80 miles.
Does the bars work? They work for me. As with the 4:1 drink, I definitely find a bit of protein helps. There’s no doubt I feel stronger towards the end of a long sportive if I’m taking on protein as well as carbo during the final few hours.
Verdict - A handy, tasty way to take on carbohydrate and protein – ideal for use in longer races, sportives, and other endurance events, as well as for post-ride recovery.

We've eaten enough of these bars in the last month to call ourselves true experts. Like many training fuels they use a 4 to 1 ratio of carbohydrate and protein that is proven to boost your performance and recovery, leaving you fresher for your next tough session. Snacks that contain protein also satiate your appetite better than carbohydrate alone, so these bars prove to be a good between-meal snack. Just like their gels, High 5 have created a natural-tasting sweetness by using fruit (in this case cranberry), with oats to provide complex carbohydrates. It's this natural taste that makes these bars a winner. Some bars have an ingredients list as long as your arm, but these are so straightforward and easy to eat that you'll want to munch them again and again.
Verdict - Natural-tasting energy bar that hits the spot during and after exercise. Performance 5/5, Value 4/5, Overall 4/5
