SIS Build Protein Bar

The Science In Sport Build Bar has been developed to help meet the protein needs of athletes and sports people.

The Build bar provides an easy way to consume high quality protein which can help maximise training, prevent the break down of muscle when you're running short of protein and aid recovery from exercise. Each 55g bar provides 20g of protein along with antioxidants (green tea extract and L-Carnitine)

Recommended Usage

Easy to store in car, kit bag or at the office so it can be consumed immediately after exercise, or as a high protein snack at any time during the day, without the hassle of mixing a protein or recovery drink.

The SIS Build Bar is available in Chocolate & Peanut flavour.

Press Reviews

Triathlete's World

"Multiple Olympic-gold medallist Sir Chris Hoy didn't only eat Bran Flakes to get him where he is today: he's a fan of Science In Sport products too. The sports nutrition company has been working with him to develop its new Build Bar. Each 55g bar packs 20g of protein to aid recovery from exercise and prevent muscle breakdown after a tough session. Several tasters rated itnas the best-tasting sports bar they'd ever tried. It tastes natural, doesn't have the chalky texture in some protein products, and is moist and delicious".

What does a Build Bar taste like? Very good indeed. A chocolate coating, with the flavour and texture of the inside bar reminiscent of caramel slice, or even - thanks to those peanuts - an old-skool Marathon bar. Yes, I know they’re called Snickers now, but I’m slow to adapt. Either way, you’ll have no problem enjoying this on your next bike ride.

I’ve tried a lot of carbo-and-protein mix products over the past couple of years, and the Build Bar is already a definite favourite. I tested two in a recent sportive, eating one at about 50 miles and the other at about 70 miles, and they went down well.

Overall, I’d recommend the Build Bar as worth trying. As with all energy products, only trial and error will help you find what works best for you, but this is a good one to consider adding to your armoury.

Cycling Plus

With 20g of protein per 55g bar, Science In Sport's chocolate and peanut Build Bars are great for muscle strength. Each bar contains L-carnitine tartrate (0.15%) which aids, strength, endurance and muscle recovery. Tasting like a crushed up Snickers, the Build Bar is actually pretty nice, although like many protein bars they are quite dry.

Bike Magic

"Happily passes the taste test, being easily one of the nicest bars we’ve yet munched on after a ride". Bike Magic Verdict - 4 stars out of 5.
